Projects
Module Co
RED provided design validation of MEP services for a new vaccine testing centre working, alongside M&E contractors. The scope included working through the concept and detailed design of the systems, followed by on-site verification during the installation and commissioning phases.
Particular attention was required to the design of the ventilation system including close control of temperatures, humidities, air change, filtration and pressure regimes to ensure full compliance with the client’s strict design criteria.
Full environmental control was underpinned by a power, heating, cooling and process water systems all controlled by a sophisticated building energy management system with links to the main site.

Key Facts
- Extensive detection system to raise alarms if any of the critical parameters exceeded their thresholds
- Extensive energy efficiency features were incorporated into the design of the mechanical services: heat recovery, variable speed pumps and fans, low energy lighting and high efficiency heating and cooling plant
- Impressively low projected CO2 emissions footprint per square metre
