Projects
Vision Labs
The project involved the conversion of an existing empty warehouse building into a new Lens coating facility and the provision of a link corridor to an existing production facility.
The project comprised:
- Two new production area clean rooms at ground floor level, constructed to EN14644 class 7
- A new first floor mezzanine level, with open plan and cellular process rooms and support areas all constructed to EN14644 class 8
- A number of specialist services as detailed including de-ionised water, process ventilation systems, process drainage and compressed air to serve the client’s production equipment outlets
- Air conditioning, ventilation, IT cooling, general drainage, hot and cold water services.
The clean room certification exceeded BS/EN/ISO 14644-1 Standards and all rooms achieved class 7 minimum. Product quality has increased significantly and the first batch runs indicated a 50% reduction in product defect / faults. The deionised water quality was of such purity that Vision Labs immediately made a business case for an identical system elsewhere on the site.
