Women in RED is RED’s internal women’s network, which forms part of the IDEA initiative. RED’s IDEA began in 2019, to promote an Inclusive, Diverse, Equitable and Accessible workplace for all employees.
Women in RED have a mission of empowering women to lead courageously and achieve career success by cultivating a community of belonging, connection and growth.
We want to inspire young women within the industry with an interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) at a much younger age to educate them on the opportunities available in construction and engineering. The aim is to accelerate forward with truly breaking the bias, whilst introducing more women into the industry.
Our members are committed to driving RED’s mission. We welcome involvement from all RED employees (not only females) to encourage, inspire and lead by example
Women in RED is used to demonstrate inclusivity of all women within RED, not just engineers and those with STEM backgrounds.
Each employee plays an important role in creating a strong, efficient and inspirational organisation, and Women in RED seeks to recognise this and provide a platform of growth and support for all.
Our Women in RED team regularly visits schools in the UK and internationally, and have already delivered critical engagement sessions in 2023, tackling key topics such as STEM, sustainability and graduate recruitment.
Our dedicated Women in RED members hold office workshops, attend events and fairs, and cover cutting-edge thought leadership topics at key industry events around the world.

In 2023, RED was proud be one of the sponsor for SheCanEngineer, who has recently become a registered charity in the UK.
SheCanEngineer is a non-profit diversity & inclusion initiative designed to inspire and encourage girls into Engineering, and highlight the roles and achievements of women in the sector. RED’s partnership with SheCanEngineer will see collaboration and attendance of important mile-stone events throughout the year, including INWED (International Women in Engineering Day), and also provides an opportunity to support during activities such as workshops, STEM Events, podcasts and mentoring schemes.
