RED provided MEP design consultancy services for the new Viettel Headquarters in Hanoi, Vietnam, designed by Gensler.

The first building in Hanoi to meet the US Green Building Association standard, the project is designed according to the trend of the era towards a sustainable construction project including criteria for energy saving, energy regeneration, closeness and environmental friendliness. The project is one of the few in Vietnam registered to receive green certification (LEED).

• Energy regeneration solutions help to reuse the generated energy to operate the air conditioning system into heating energy for feed water for use in building activities.
• 30% of the building is used for trees and lakes ensuring air quality inside and outside of the building.
• 70% of construction materials can be recycled, contain no hazardous substances and do not discharge toxic substances out of the building.
• Solutions applied to save energy include the use of low-E glass (ensuring the light is transmitted the most, but the amount of heat transmitted through the building is minimal).
• Sun protection system helps reduce energy consumption for lighting and regulating, thereby saving electricity.
• 95% of rainwater to the building is fully collected and used for cooling for air-conditioning systems, watering plants, and supplying water for sanitation to save water.
• IBMS (Intelligent Building Management System) - Synchronous system that allows to control and manage all technical systems in the building such as electricity system, water supply system, air conditioning environmental warning, security, fire alarm, ensuring the operation of equipment in the building is accurate, timely, efficient, energy-efficient and saves operating costs.
