RED shortlisted for Building Awards 2012
Reflecting the lead role of engineering in sustainable building design, the prestigious UK Building Awards have shortlisted RED in their Cut the Carbon category – won last year by ‘passivhaus’ specialists Architype architects. Other winners last year include Bennetts Associates, Pollard Thomas Edwards, Mace and Gleeds. A delighted RED [Sustainability Technical Director] Phil Reid said: “This shortlisting recognises the massive investment we have made in sustainability services over the last 18 months”.
Over that time, RED has increased the number of sustainability engineers to 15% of the total workforce and made major investments in technology, developing in-house capabilities such as IES Dynamic Simulation Modelling, CFD modelling of ventilation air flows and CHP / CCHP optimisation software, on top of existing BREEAM AP and LEED professional services.
