RED Engineering Design has been recognised with a top accolade for its commitment to workplace wellbeing.

RED was recognised with a Gold Award in Mind’s eighth annual Workplace Wellbeing Index. The Gold Award means mental health policies and practices have been successfully embedded and RED has demonstrated a long-term, in-depth commitment to the mental health of its staff.

Like most organisations in our sectors, our team is our biggest asset and from time to time, as individuals, we all struggle. In response, during lockdown, we implemented a number of initiatives to support the whole RED family and wellbeing was placed firmly at its core. Over the last couple of years, we have worked closely with Mind to expand on these initiatives, and we’re delighted to have achieved the Gold Award in Mind’s Workplace Wellbeing Index. Mark Smith, COO at RED Engineering Design

Mind’s Workplace Wellbeing Index is a benchmark of best policy and practice, celebrating the excellent work employers are doing to promote and support positive mental health, and providing key recommendations on the specific areas where there is room to improve. This year, Mind surveyed almost 19,000 employees across the 55 employers participating in the Index.

The Index has seen a mix of returning organisations eager to assess the impact of their newly implemented wellbeing initiatives as well as first-time organisations starting their journey to improve employee wellbeing.

This achievement is a testament to our unwavering commitment to our employees' mental health and I would like to extend a special thank you to our HR specialists for their dedication and hard work in implementing programmes which have ultimately been recognised by Mind. Their efforts have been instrumental in embedding these vital practices into our company culture, providing robust wellness resources and creating an environment in which we all can thrive. We are thrilled to celebrate organisations like RED Engineering Design, who have demonstrated to their staff that they value and support their wellbeing as a priority. Good mental health is vitally important in the workplace. We spend a huge amount of time at work, and it can - and does - have an impact on our mental health. That is why the commitment that RED made to their employees is significant in ensuring people can get the mental health support they might need. Our Workplace Wellbeing Index continues to be the gold standard for mental health and wellbeing best practice in the workplace. This year’s Index took place against ongoing challenges, with political uncertainty at a high and legislative changes on the horizon. It is important we continue to prioritise the mental health and wellbeing support we offer at work. Andrew Vale, Director of Commercial Income at Mind
