We now seek a fully experienced Senior Ethics & Compliance Officer to join our London office.

Role Responsibilities

  • Support the General Counsel & Head of Ethics & Compliance in delivering RED’s Ethics and Compliance programme globally to all employees
  • Lead initiatives in RED globally, to raise awareness of and champion ethics and compliance, including being a key point of contact to provide guidance and training on policy and process implementation and general ethics queries
  • Support to drive the embedding of ethics and compliance in the strategy, management and business practices of RED
  • Develop RED’s programme in new markets RED is entering in APAC and any new geographies/office locations (globally)
  • Develop and deliver a continuing programme of training to RED’s network of Ethics Champions globally to raise awareness of ethics, to provide visibility of local concerns and provide the business with local points of contact
  • Develop and deliver onboarding training sessions introducing all new employees to RED’s programme as well as continuous and targeted training of specific teams and geographies. 
  • Conduct the full suite of ethics checks (including anti-bribery and corruption and human rights) and undertake due diligence on clients and suppliers (through the ENGIE Group tools e.g. Lexis Nexis) to prepare ethics reports on all new projects, advising on risks and mitigation measures
  • Liaise with and participate in regular meetings and initiatives of the Group (Tractebel and ENGIE) Ethics and Compliance network
  • Prepare all reports as are required to the Tractebel and ENGIE Group Ethics and Compliance network, including year-end annual reporting and Internal Controls reporting annually. 
  • Maintain the ENGIE Group reporting tool, ensuring all ethics incidents are logged and investigated promptly
  • Maintain monthly reporting to RED’s Senior Management to monitor and report on the compliance of RED’s policies and processes globally, in-line with Tractebel and ENGIE Group’s newly implemented Ethics Code of Conduct
  • Advise, manage and report on compliance of RED’s Gifts & Hospitality policy, in accordance with anti-bribery management standards
  • Support in RED’s participation of external audits to obtain ISO 37001 accreditation in 2025 and maintain accreditation thereafter
  • Deliver a programme of internal audit to ensure compliance with the programme across RED’s entities globally

Role Requirements

  • Degree qualified (law degree desirable) 
  • 8 years’ plus relevant experience in a similar role, delivering and leading a global ethics and compliance programme
  • Understanding of ethics and compliance constitution, processes and terminology
  • Knowledge of the ISO37001 Standard and its application of an anti-bribery management system
  • Ability to deliver impactful and succinct trainings and presentations
  • Competency in research, reporting, drafting and analytical skills
  • Adept at problem-solving, with a pragmatic and flexible approach
  • Strong interpersonal and team working skills
  • Inspirational leadership qualities to champion and promote ethical practices and culture in RED globally
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Background in consulting or construction preferred
  • Good understanding of international working and business operations of a global business
