Head of R&D

Dr. Royapoor is a scientist and a design practitioner with over 18 years’ experience in research and design of advanced buildings and HVAC systems, built-environment decarbonisation and master-planning.

He has managed mechanical, electrical and environmental engineers tasked with services design, building fabric optimisation, CFD analysis and multi-objective optimisation, and has led challenging projects involving international collaboration in the UK, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He has extensive experience in bid writing and has contributed to government white papers on heating decarbonisation, Hydrogen economy and has drafted policy papers on smart local energy systems.

In his current role as Head of R&D Technology, Mohammad is responsible for the coordination and delivery of electrical, mechanical, sustainability and market research projects that support the RED Energy Transition sector and contribute to ENGIE’s overall decarbonisation strategy.

In his current role Dr. Royapoor is responsible for the delivery of multiple R&D projects that includes embodied Carbon tool development, DC decarbonisation, small modular reactors for local energy systems, future fuels and microgrid design and optimisation. These feed directly into the design projects that RED undertakes globally.
