Projects
Regional Distribution Centre - Nationwide
RED was appointed by this UK food retailer to conduct energy audits for all of their Regional Distribution Centres (RDC) in order to identify energy and cost saving solutions which would be economically viable. RED’s low energy initiatives focusing on economical, energy efficient designs enabled the retailer to significantly reduce its energy costs and related carbon emissions, helping them to drive down costs for their entire portfolio.
Each RDC was audited in detail, with emphasis on lighting, heating and ventilation, and cooling of the refrigerated areas. Each audit identified, designed and costed several projects to improve the performance of the above services through equipment replacement and/or more effective controls. The audits also included identifying low carbon or renewable energy generation opportunities such as solar PV, solar heating and wind power where applicable and viable.
