Food Product Manufacturer
RED was appointed to conduct a high level feasibility study for an onsite district waste heat scheme for this food factory and adjoining edible oils refinery.
Both sites had high simultaneous heating and cooling loads including process refrigeration and steam production.
The study covered low carbon technologies including:
- Cogeneration (CHP)
- Anaerobic digestion of waste
- Earth looping
- Phase Change Material (PCM) thermal storage
The study made use of detailed dynamic simulation modelling in order to optimise the performance of the overall system.

Key Facts
- Annual CO2 savings of 4500 tonnes
- Approximate 4 year pay back on investment
