Digital Realty Cressex
Refurbishment of an existing warehouse to accommodate two 1000m2 data halls, 1000m2 office fit-out and associated infrastructure. The data centre was part of Digital Realty’s roll-out expansion plan using their pod design. Each data hall provides 1500 kW of IT capacity and was designed with independent infrastructure and at least N+1 resilience of the major plant. Key challenges were to fit the standard pod design into an existing building, particularly the coordination of the services through plant rooms with a 2.75m clear height. The roll-out programme was extremely fast-paced and required very close management of design variations on site to maintain project delivery to programme and budget.
